Well it sure looks like no one is happy with the Republican candidates running for president this time around. Rick Santorum, Mitt Romney and now Newt Gingrich make it a three way tie by each winning a primary.  Being a registered Independent I feel pretty much like most Republicans do-- that their choices so far are awful. I vote for the candidate not the party and the GOP field right now is the worst one in my lifetime. It would be nice to have two good candidates to pick from in November. Maybe this time around the Republicans will nominate someone else at their convention.  I’m pretty okay with President Obama but when I compare him to the GOP field so far this time around, I’m way happier with Obama by a long shot!

Newt seems to think of himself as being Reagan- like. I voted for Reagan and there is no way I would ever vote for Newt Gingrich.  Reagan had a way of making everyone-- Republican, Independent and Democrat-- feel good about America and our role in the world. Newt just makes this Independent’s  skin crawl. Newt is a divider not a uniter like President Reagan was.

Republicans, be smart-- keep looking for someone better. Don’t settle for what you’ve been dealt so far.
