The Republican Party blames the sluggish economy on the Democrats and President Obama, claiming that he has lied to the American people because he has not kept his promises. They also brag to their constituents that they have been able to get 98 percent of the legislation that they wanted because they control all avenues to change.
Some Republicans also want to eliminate the departments of education, finance, energy and the environment. They vow not to raise taxes on the ultra-rich or cut benefits to big oil, as well as oppose any stimulus. Will any of that help create or save jobs?
It is true that President Obama has gotten very little that he promised, and we all know why. So do they?
Any president's power is very limited without the help of Congress. One can only wonder how many jobs were actually saved with the stimulus package.
I try visualizing how their proposals will make us a more prosperous nation. I keep coming up with the same answers. Do you?
