Anyone Could Be President Mitt Romney

(This is a reprint of our 2/5/12 article)

How would you like to be president? I don’t think it would be that hard a job if you would govern the way Mitt Romney says he’s going to govern.
Mitt Romney said he would do nothing to help the Americanauto companies stay in business or protect 1000’s of American auto workers’ jobs.
Mitt Romney said he would do nothing for the American people that are in foreclosure on their homes. He said let the process play out. This means of course someone with money will pick the house up for far less than it’s worth and then rent it back to people that lost everything. This is an example of the rich just getting richer.
Mitt Romney this week showed us once again that he is not worried about the poor when he said the poor do ok-- they have programs to help them.
This guy is clueless to the problems of real Americans. He also must be a callous person if he could drive to Canada with his dog caged on the roof of his car.
Mitt Romney talks about what he won’t do or what he’s going to undo as president. I think we could pick anyone to do the job as well as Mitt. Just sit behind the desk in the White House and do nothing!
Great way to solve American problems, Mitt!

  1. If Mitt had actively sought private investors to "bail out" the auto industry and turn it around. That's his resume and record at Bain, right? To turn companies around? Mitt's got friends with very deep pockets and he could have put together a consortium of investors. And, judging by the success and turnaround of the industry, they would have profited.

Even if their profits weren't reaped right away, those COMMUNITIES profited. There are open stores and dealerships and peripheral industries open now that might not be but for the government investment.

If Mitt did invest, he'd be a hero. Michigan and Ohio would be his. But he didn't do that, did he? Mitt is not THAT guy. Mitt isn't the "hero" of the "boy gets assaulted by a group wielding scissors" story, he was the perpetrator of the assault.

Mitt is running for President and he's talking about American values. Can he needs to explain what American value is "give up?" Give up on Detroit and Akron. Give up and let them die. Mitt's response to the GLOBAL crisis in the auto and peripheral industries is just "let it happen" and he was outspoken about this. He couldn't just hold that belief silent, he went out to the media and published opinion pieces about it.

    Why?

Because whether Detroit lived or died, Mitt would be just fine, thank you very much. Mr. Smith on Main Street could find his pharmacy close because the factory closed, because the industry died, but Mitt would still be riding Raflaca into the sunset confident that his profits from his investments in Iranian oil companies are safe in his bank in Bermuda. The American Dream.
