The first time I was allowed to vote was in the 2008 elections, and like many others I felt the responsibility to vote for hope and change for this nation. Now that November is just around the corner I can't help but feel people are so full of hate and resentment they feel they have no choice but to vote for Mitt Romney. One of the major talking points is where our nation is headed for future generations, and seeing how that means me, I thought it best I state my opinion.
The progress Barack Obama has made since he stepped into office, considering what a mess he had to clean up, has given me pride. I, like many others, have a pre-existing health condition and haven't had health insurance for over four years because I can't afford the premiums, so his health care bill will help me.
Trying to raise taxes on the upper class is the right thing to do. I feel it is a contribution to the children of this nation -- especially when a bigger percentage of my low-income paycheck goes to taxes than of their millions.
Ending "don't ask, don't tell" is going to encourage more Americans of every walk of life to sign up and risk dying for the freedoms we all share in this nation.
