Okay day after day people write about President Obama spending our childrens' futures into debt. Yet if John McCain had won the election the picture pretty much would have been the same. That's because most of the debt came the the first year in the president's term which was the budget given to him by President George W. Bush. The first year of any presidency, he or she is left with the budget from the previous president. This fact is something that the Republican Party fails to mention when they blame President Obama for rising debt. They also fail to mention that Bush never put the expenses of years of wars down on paper or the costs of those famous Bush tax cuts. Poor President Obama had to put all these expenses down on the accounting books. Maybe President Obama should have just printed out an invoice and sent it over to the Republican Party with a short note attached.
Dear Republican Party:
I just moved into my new home at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue and I received this bill for items that were done before our date of occupancy. These charges were all made by the occupant before us. So I'm forwarding this statement to you for payment or if you know the former resident's new address please forward so this matter can be taken care of in a timely manner.

This would have been nice if President Obama could have done it. But it was not so. Now people on the right want Americans to think he is this big wild spender which he is not. Here once again is what Forbes magazine says about how tight President Obama is with the buck:
